Yashwantrao Chavan is revered as the architect of modern Maharashtra for his pivotal role in shaping the state’s development and governance.

As the first Chief Minister of Maharashtra after its formation in 1960, Chavan Saheb spearheaded numerous initiatives that laid the foundation for the state’s progress. He championed agricultural reforms, industrialization, and infrastructure projects, which propelled Maharashtra into a leading economic powerhouse in India.

Establishment of 2800 Self Help Groups (SHG) for Muslim women in 15 districts by the Women's Economic Development Corporation. Each madrasa was granted a subsidy of ₹10 lakh to fortify these efforts.
