Steeped in a legacy of political eminence, Shri. Tatkare embarked on his political odyssey in the 1980s, venturing into electoral politics with determination.
His political rise saw him contest the Assembly election from the Shrivardhan constituency in Raigad, clinching victory and assuming the mantle of an MLA for the first time in 1995.
Throughout his career, Shri Tatkare has held esteemed ministerial portfolios, leaving an indelible mark on Maharashtra’s governance landscape.
Career History
His tenure includes serving as Minister of State for Urban Development and Ports from 1999 to 2003, followed by pivotal roles in Water Resources, Finance, and Energy ministries in the Congress-NCP coalition government. Notably, Shri. Tatkare’s leadership as Water Resources Minister from November 2010 to September 2014, and Finance and Planning Minister from November 2009 to November 2010, underscored his strategic acumen and commitment to driving sustainable development initiatives.
In 2019, Shri. Tatkare clinched victory in the Lok Sabha election from the Raigad constituency, reaffirming his dedicated connection with the electorate and dedication to their welfare.
